Mondrian Revolutionary: Time is a painting and sewing artwork created in 2022, measuring 126×66 cm. Inspired by the geometric abstraction of Piet Mondrian, this piece weaves a deeper narrative, incorporating the myth of Chronos and the Three Moirai, the ancient Greek figures who control time and destiny. Sewn at Casa Libertad in San Cristóbal de las Casas, the artwork represents a turning point in the artist’s journey, marking a shift in creative exploration. After two years of travel, this piece reflects on the power of art—not just as an aesthetic expression, but as a testimonial tool, recording experiences and reshaping history through artistic language.

Painting and sewing on towel, 100x100 cm, 2022. A collaborative artwork blending mysticism, storytelling, and synchronicity, featuring a handcrafted pole and a symbolic jacket.

Jacket + Pole is a unique mixed-media artwork created in 2022, measuring 100×100 cm. This piece is deeply rooted in synchronicity, where different artists and elements intertwined to create something greater than the sum of its parts. A powerful witch crafted a magical pole, inspired by the needle the artist used for sewing paintings. The artist contributed pieces and objects collected during travels, infusing the pole with personal history. Another artist then created a jacket based on the legend of La Señora de la Muerte y Christos, a story previously depicted in one of the artist’s live performance paintings. The result is a work of art that embodies collaboration, storytelling, and mystical connection.

Tortuga, is a painting and sewing artwork created in 2021, measuring 140×76 cm. This piece was inspired by a mystical night in Chacahua, Oaxaca, where the artist was with a woman and Harley, her Great Dane. As they lay on the beach gazing at the stars and listening to music, an incredible moment unfolded—a turtle unexpectedly crossed over their beach towel to lay its eggs.

This synchronous event sparked a reflection on Mexican mythology, particularly the legend of the Sun and Moon escaping destruction under the shell of a turtle, allowing the Moon to safely find its place in the sky. The artist drew a lesson from this experience—life sends clear signs, and if we learn to interpret and follow them, they may lead us to love stories we never expected.

The towels were stolen and later replaced in Puerto Escondido, and the painting was completed during a live performance at the Zicatela market, further weaving its history into the artwork itself.

This piece offers a scenic view of the Progreso Lagoon, where nature and symbolism intertwine. At the heart of the composition lies an open cage—its meaning hidden within the painting’s imagery, inviting the viewer to decipher the key concealed within the artwork.

Los Balazos is a painting and sewing artwork created in 2022, measuring 116×61 cm. This piece immortalizes a shocking personal experience. The towel, once attached to the artist’s backpack, became part of an intense moment when he was unexpectedly shot at in Encuentro Park, San Cristóbal de las Casas. Arriving late at the gate, the artist startled Don Antonio, the park’s keeper, who, in fear, defended himself with gunfire.

A week later, the artist returned to the scene to process the event through painting. The resulting artwork transforms trauma into storytelling, capturing both the intensity of the moment and the resilience of artistic expression.

This piece features a Great Dane turned into a pirate flag, embodying a spirit of rebellion and defiance. The artwork carries a revolutionary mood, reflecting on the growing unrest in nature’s forces and the depletion of reason’s energy.

Caballo is a painting and sewing artwork created in 2021, measuring 140×80 cm. This piece humorously captures a real event that took place in Tepoztlán during a mushroom practice. A horse, startled by a ghostly presence, jumps and farts, creating an unexpectedly charming and comical moment. The artwork blends surrealism with personal storytelling, bringing lightness to themes of fear and instinct. Originally painted between Mexico City and Progreso, Yucatán, the towel itself later became part of the story—stolen in Puerto Morelos, adding another layer of narrative to the piece.
